Equanimity

This week I just want to talk about this word. Equanimity. The dictionary on my iPad says it means “mental calmness and composure especially in a difficult situation.” Where does this peace and calmness come from? In Moroni 7, he says “all things which are good cometh of God.” So we know that peace comes from God. That anything that is good comes of God. And that’s many things!

My next question is how do we get this peace? How do we find the calm when we are so racked with torment? When our souls are in anguish and we hurt so bad? How do we find the rest for our souls in the midst of trial? Jeremiah 6:16. Ask. Give yourself to much 2016 0725prayer.

Enos says in the Book of Mormon that he “wrestled” before God. He cried all day and night. His “soul hundred.” He “struggled in the spirit” and labored diligently to pray for himself and others. After he had done so, he says “my would did rest.” Could this be what we all desire?

Alma teaches his son Helaman, that after being wrecked with eternal torment, he prayed so fervently that his guilt was swept away. In his words “And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!”

I encourage you all to turn to God in prayer no matter what you are going through. He will answer and you will find rest in your souls.

Have a wonderful week!  With love,

Sister Greener🐧

  1. Loved your comments on peace, with all the worldy turmoil it is hard to keep peace in your heart. Sounds you are enjoying your mission. Have a great week and be safe.
